Today, let's study kanji name for Merlin,
who gave a message on twitter,
and he is from Hawaii. :)

How to write the kanji for Shimada??

At first, there are japanese family-name Shimada too, which has two patterns like below.
Both of them has two kanji Shima and Da, and the kanji Da means paddy field.
The kanji of left one means an island,
and the right one means a villege/settlement at the waterside among the mountains.

We can write it like below.
We can call the left one Iwao in one kanji letter, and it means strict, dignity.
And the three patterns at right consist of two kanji Iwa and O.
The kanji Iwa means a rock.
The three kanji for O means 1.man 2.husband 3.male, which are often seen in the names of japenese men.

At last, i'll show two way of kanji for Merlin.
The kanji for Sea in the left one,
we can't call it Mer, but Kai or Umi or Mi,
the kanji is sometimes used for the name Marine/Marin as an arbitrarily used substitute character in these days.
i think the meaning of the kanji ''sea'' suits him.
The right one has two kanji MA(Mer) and Rin(Lin), which means truth/real and dignified.
i think these kanji also suits him.
